Newcastle striker Andy Carroll has committed his future to the club by signing a new three-and-a-half-year contract.

The 20-year-old has put pen to paper on the deal after initially rejecting a five-year offer on less favourable terms.

Carroll told the club's official website, "I'm over the moon to get my future sorted and there was never any doubt I would sign a new deal."

He added: "This is where I want to play my football and this season has been a dream for me."
