Oldham have confirmed they have parted company with manager John Sheridan.

After a week of controversy surrounding the club, including a number of alleged incidents following a team night out at Belle Vue dog track, the club announced the decision following talks with Sheridan.

The Latics were hammered 6-2 by League One promotion hopefuls MK Dons on Saturday despite taking the lead on two separate occasions.

Despite lying in eighth position, just a point behind sixth-placed Tranmere, they are without a win in three matches and will now be looking to pick up enough points to make the play-offs from their remaining nine games of the season.
