Blackpool caretaker boss Tony Parkes has spoken to both Lancashire rivals Burnley and Alan Mahon over a possible loan move.

The Clarets midfielder has had limited first-team chances this season and Parkes is keen to seal the deal next week.

"I spoke to both Owen (Coyle) and Alan on Thursday afternoon," Parkes told the club's official website. "He is a player I know well and a player who would add something to our squad."

He added: "We will have a chat again on Monday as a staff and again with Burnley and the player and if we can do something then I would be delighted to see him sign for the club."
