Watch: LeBron James throws down four epic dunks against Pistons

Sometimes NBA teams lose and threaten to spoil special individual performances.

On Thursday, that’s exactly what happened.

The Detroit Pistons might have defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers by the score of 106-101 on Thursday night, but LeBron James had an epic night that can’t be ignored.

Posting a triple-double of 29 points on 12-of-22 shooting along with 13 rebounds and 10 assists, James dazzled on the offensive end of the court, throwing down a number of epic dunks in the process.

He got the ball rolling late in the first quarter by simply blowing by Jon Leuer.

Leuer stood no chance.

He followed that up with this vicious two-hander after receiving a nifty feed from co-star Kyrie Irving.

That’s called finishing with authority. He nearly tore the rim right off the basket!

He also threw down this jam in traffic.

All the defense could do was stand there and watch as he soared over their heads.

Throughout the game, the Pistons revealed that no one on their roster can check LeBron and limit him in any way.

The most epic of the dunks came late in the third quarter, when James used a screen, drove by his defender and posterized Tobias Harris.

It’s no wonder why James is shooting 58.6 percent from two-point range this season, up from his career mark of 54.0.

As one of the best finishers around the rim in the entire NBA, he knows his limits as well as his strengths when driving to the rim.

In the process of his dunk show, he became the seventh player in NBA history to record 50 triple-doubles.

As you can imagine, the performance was epic for everyone to witness, even current NBA players like LeBron’s buddy Dwyane Wade, who tweeted the following.

It was a natural emotion to be in awe of King James on Thursday night.

With Kevin Love out for a few more weeks at the very minimum, James will have to continue to shoulder the load on both ends of the floor for the Cavs, who dropped their third-straight game and sit just 2.0 games ahead of the Boston Celtics atop the Eastern Conference standings. The Washington Wizards are just 3.0 games back while the Toronto Raptors sit 4.5 games out of first place.

As LeBron knows, dunking is pretty much the most high-percentage way of getting two points, and he will be relied on to provide as many points as he can down the stretch.
