After all of the rumours and the excitement, Broken Matt Hardy confirmed that he and Brother Nero had signed deals with Ring of Honor. At the time, it ended all hope of The Hardy Boyz making an emphatic return to the WWE.

WWE RETURN?

The move didn’t come as a huge surprise, though, as he confirmed on his Twitter account last month that he was leaving Impact Wrestling, and the cards that fell into place afterwards suggested that a WWE move was on the horizon.

Before they defeated the Young bucks for the tag team titles, Matt’s merchandise store was closed, while Dave Meltzer confirmed on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that they were no longer going to take bookings in the coming months.

Along with that, Matt is interacting a lot with current WWE stars, as he continues to tease a potential clash with some of them – and it looks like there could be something brewing in the background.

According to Ring Side News, Meltzer has confirmed yet again on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The Hardy Boyz are still heading to the WWE, as their current Ring of Honor deal is said to be a short one.

APRIL 3

That’s something Bryan Alvarez echoed on the Wrestling Observer Radio, claiming two sources have told him that their current Ring of Honor stint won’t last long, and WWE is their next destination.

Their latest advertised date for them is also April 1, which means there’s a possibility that they show up at WrestleMania 33 the following night.

However, as it’s already a stacked card, they’re speculating the RAW after WrestleMania looks to be the likely night they make their return.

Storyline-wise, it would probably make no sense having them return at the Grandest Stage of Them All, as April 2 is going to be the night many feuds reach an end, before they start again the following night.

Plus, the crowd on the first episode of RAW after WrestleMania is always a loud one, so WWE can perhaps afford to hold off for one more night and still make them have the same impact.

Currently, Karl Anderson of The Club and Bray Wyatt are the big targets Broken Matt has focused most of his attention and rightfully so.

He’s made it clear on numerous occasions that he and Brother Nero are coming for tag team gold, while fans want to see a feud between him and the current WWE Champion on SmackDown LIVE.

So, it looks like the countdown is on to April 3, where Broken Matt could potentially bring his entertaining character back home.
