Charlton have decided against extending Tom Soares' loan spell from Stoke.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been at The Valley since January, but was left out of the side which drew 0-0 against Preston on Saturday and will now return to the Britannia Stadium.

Soares made 11 appearances for Charlton, scoring one goal, but with the Addicks' appearing doomed to relegation to League One they have decided not to keep him on.

"Tom did well for us but he's going to go back," boss Phil Parkinson told the South London Press.
