Other than a reported training ground clash in January, we’ve seen a very different Diego Costa this season. The striker is on the verge of leading his side to a domestic double, scoring 18 goals in all competitions as he also seeks to win the Premier League’s Golden Boot.In previous seasons, we’ve seen a controversial Costa with him seemingly more interested in getting involved in tussles with defenders than scoring goals. And that was seen once again on Monday night as his side took on Manchester United in the FA Cup quarter-final.Costa was seen battling with United defender Marcos Rojo on numerous occasions, throwing himself on the floor in an attempt to get his opponent sent off.And a video has emerged of one of these incidents and it makes for embarrassing viewing for Costa. He is seen grappling with Rojo before the Argentine taps him on the chest, leaving Costa to dramatically dive to the ground. In truth, it’s painful to watch.

Costa's playacting

Twitter slams Costa

And Twitter wasn’t having any of it. Here’s how they reacted:

But that wasn’t the only incident between the pair.

After Costa was flagged offside, Rojo attempted to get the ball from him in the hope to start the match immediately. And Costa inexplicably threw himself to the ground once again in another embarrassing act.

Here it is:

While trying to get his opponent sent off is as far as Costa went on Monday, Rojo took it a step or two further.

That’s because, after his clashes with Costa, Rojo appeared to intentionally stamp on Eden Hazard towards the end of the match. If found guilty, he will face a similar five-match ban that Tyrone Mings received for doing the same to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
