One of the most highly anticipated fights that could happen this year is the super fight between UFC fighter Conor McGregor and boxer Floyd Mayweather.

Whether the bout takes place in September or June, fans are going to be watching the clash no matter what. However, many believe the fight is only going to go one way; a Mayweather victory, because of the superior experience he has in the sport of boxing.

Yet, McGregor camp, as expected, is keeping the faith, and they believe the Irishman can pull out a shocker and become the only loss on Money's 49-0 boxing record.

Conor's teammate even believes he has recognized how The Notorious can trick Mayweather and beat him at his own game.

Speaking to The 42, Gunnar Nelson believes McGregor can defeat Mayweather inside a boxing ring if he takes advantage of the boxer's weakness against southpaw fighters. He said: “It’s going to generate a lot of money. I think that’s the idea of it all. But I believe in Conor too.

"I have a hard time predicting exactly how this thing goes and how good Mayweather is at boxing compared to Conor. But I just know that Mayweather has struggled with southpaws. Conor is also bigger than him. Mayweather is almost always the bigger guy, except maybe when he fought Canelo. Conor has the reach as well. I think Conor could trick him in his own game. I’m just looking forward to seeing it.”

Not many people are betting on the UFC fighter defeating the boxer at his own game, but Nelson has given a convincing argument for McGregor to win against Mayweather when they finally meet, whenever that may be. The Icelandic fighter, however, isn't the only person to believe Notorious can beat Money inside the ring.

Nate Diaz has recently said he thinks the Irishman has: "A good chance to make something happen in two or three rounds," but ultimately believes his fellow UFC fighter is too amateur for the American. Joe Rogan meanwhile believes Conor would have to bend the rules to gain an advantage over Floyd.

A victory for McGregor against Mayweather may be a tough one to come by, but not an impossible task if you believe what some people have been saying about The Notorious.
