John Cena confirmed for WrestleMania tag team match

WrestleMania is less than three weeks away and it could be argued that Smackdown is falling behind in terms of how many matches it has already confirmed for the event.

With their WWE Championship match between Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton confirmed along with a somewhat unclear match for the Women's Championship also made, Smackdown has yet to offer little else towards the Show of Shows.

Gaining momentum

With just two matches announced for the event in Orlando, Florida, Tuesday Night's episode went out of it's way to address that.

Three more matches were arguably added to WrestleMania during Tuesday's show, but the only one that was completely confirmed is the match which will feature John Cena.

For weeks, the Miz and Maryse have made a point of embarking upon very personal promos aimed towards Cena and his real life girlfriend Nikki Bella.

Bella and Cena have continued to respond but keep failing to get their hands on the most must see couple in WWE.

That pattern continued on Tuesday as a special edition of Miz TV aired on Smackdown and the A list couple took time to tell some personal stories.

After Maryse told a story of Nikki Bella stabbing her in the back years prior, Cena and Bella would come to the ring with Bella challenging Maryse to a match there and then.

Their request was flat out rejected, but only temporarily.

Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan would then come to the stage and question the Miz about who he thinks he is.

Claiming that he constantly wishes he could punch the A Lister in the face, Bryan would go on to explain how he may be unable to do that, but Cena isn't.

The Smackdown GM would confirm a match for WrestleMania in which Bella and Cena will team to compete against the team of Miz and Maryse.

Something that wouldn't go down well with the A List couple.

The mixed gender tag team match is now set for WrestleMania and may be a very low par match up given the calibre of the stars involved, but it could also be up there with Seth Rollins vs Triple H as the most personal match of the night.

Matches keep on coming

Two other matches hinted at on Smackdown included a challenge from Baron Corbin to Intercontinental Champion Dean Ambrose.

Corbin has challenged Ambrose to put his title on the line, however fans will have to wait for next week before the match can be confirmed as the Lunatic Fringe did not appear on Smackdown.

The other match seemingly made was between AJ Styles and Shane McMahon as the show ended with the Smackdown Commissioner claiming "AJ Styles says he doesn't have a match at WrestleMania, he does now."

All but confirming the match, McMahon looks to be finally getting his show on the match card at WrestleMania.
