AJ Styles has been" fired" from SmackDown after smashing Shane McMahon through a car window, and now speculation is stirring about what comes next.

Styles will step into the ring with McMahon as part of WrestleMania 33's card, with the WWE building up the story little-by-little as each SmackDown Live passes.

What might be quietly brewing, though, is an even bigger outcome that could change the WWE entirely. Considering the clash AJ's having with SmackDown's upper management after Daniel Bryan had him escorted out of the building, this seems like the logical next step.

Styles, who has been a key part of the SmackDown Live experience, may not be representing the blue for much longer. The WWE has held several discussions about moving Styles to RAW, according to various reports in the past, and the time might be right for the drastic change.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider concludes that, based on the way the WWE has angled Styles' fallout with Bryan and McMahon, that everything leads to AJ moving to RAW.

Styles would be a great fit to work with some of the top RAW talent, and it could open up several new storylines for the creative team.

It also begs the question of how this would work. SmackDown has plenty of talent, but with John Cena taking an extended break after WrestleMania, the brand would out of two of their top draws.

A transaction between the two sides could be in order, or RAW could outright "sign" Styles with SmackDown out of the picture. Rumors have also pointed to the WWE shaking up both rosters with a fresh draft, which would allow a clean divide of talent and new start post-WrestleMania.

Styles has been one of, if not the, top in-ring performers in the WWE since he joined the promotion, holding memorable match after memorable match. His Royal Rumble bout with Cena was one of the best pay-per-view bouts of the year,

McMahon has been antagonizing The Phenomenal One for weeks, with their feud taking off after Styles' No. 1 contender victory over Luke Harper was nullified when Shane forced him into a second contendership match against Randy Orton the following week.

Orton went on to win, Styles blew up after feeling like his WrestleMania title opportunity was stolen by McMahon, and things have only heated up from there.

We'll see how things play out on the next SmackDown Live, but several signs are pointing to Styles making the jump to RAW.
