Day after day, social media personalties engage in Twitter fights that result in some eyebrow-raising (and most-of-the-time hilarious) feuds.

On Wednesday, it goes without saying that no one would have expected the best keyboard battle of the day would have featured two MLB teams.

And no, Donald Trump’s name didn’t even come up once.

The Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics have been AL West rivals for a long time. However, they took their disdain for each other to a whole new level with this Twitter war.

It all began with the Mariners posting a very simple video to its fanbase, reminding them that it’s “Felix Day”, as Mariners ace Felix Hernandez would be taking the mound later in the day for his native Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic.

Here’s that video. Be sure to pay close attention.

In the video, an actor presented a lady with a ring, which prompted the following burn from the A’s, who came out of nowhere to deliver this fatality.

They entered the conversation for no apparent reason!

But, instead of backing down, the Mariners clapped back with this hilarious GIF.

While that certainly deserved a chuckle, things got serious once again, as Oakland delivered another punch to the gut.

It’s hard to argue with four World Series titles.

However, the A’s have long been removed from relevance when it has come to contending for a World Series title in much of the past couple of decades, which is how Seattle tried to counterpunch.

That’s a pretty difficult argument to make as a franchise that has never won a World Series.

The Athletics had one more jab they wanted to throw in.

In the end, it was all in good fun, as the M’s wrapped up the back-and-forth with the following. Including King Felix smiling was a nice touch to a very amusing battle.

Shockingly, it seems like the A’s and Mariners will play some exciting baseball against each other in 2017, at least from a dramatic standpoint.

In 2016, the Mariners finished 86-76 and finished second in the division while the Athletics finished dead-last at 69-93. Both teams will be looking to improve on those marks this season.

While Seattle can boast success from last year, Oakland has the upper hand based on their four rings and whoever runs their Twitter account proved that on Wednesday in what was the most amusing Spring Training drama so far.
