What comes next for Roman Reigns as he heads into a huge match at WrestleMania 33 has become the hot topic.

Reigns is set to battle The Undertaker on The Deadman's sacred WrestleMania grounds, and there's no telling how that match may go. It's hard to imagine the WWE booking a loss for Reigns against the aged Undertaker, though, especially with how they've pushed him.

This has led to speculation that the only out the WWE has left is to make Reigns a heel coming out of his match with The Undertaker. Fans have widely rejected the notion that he can be a top face in the company, and Reigns thoughts about how he's viewed provides some interesting insight.

Reigns was a guest on ESPN's Cheap Heat podcast just before the Royal Rumble in January and shared some his thoughts about how fans respond to him. Roman seemed to dispute the idea that he's getting mostly poor fan reactions in his current role.

"Whatever we have been doing, it seems to be working. It seems to continue to have loud reactions. Nobody has been to more wrestling shows than me and the other guys on the roster. We are at every show, I watch every show and I understand reactions," Reigns said.

"You can be as informed within the wrestling community and the Internet as you want. There is one thing I know, and it is listening to what kind of reactions are happening.”

The various corners of the internet — social media, Reddit and forums — have been critical of Reigns, while the WWE has maintained his role as one of the company's top face draws.

Reigns sounds confident that it's not nearly as negative as it's made to seem, and downplayed any booing as more of a "mixed" reaction.

"I like a mixed reaction, I like people competing, as far as whose reaction is going to be louder: the boos or the cheers," Reigns said. "I just want to bring out the most in our the fans and give them an opportunity to rage."

That was before he was the 30th entrant into the Royal Rumble, of course. Here's a video from the crowd as he enters, and we'll let you decide whether that's a "mixed" reaction or flat-out negative one:

If he manages to beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania 33, becoming the second man to do so, we're willing to bet there won't be any doubt about which how the fans react after his music hits.
