Sometimes professional athletes overreact.Exhibit A of that argument came on Friday night as the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Los Angeles Lakers by the score of 107-103.The incident happened with 36 seconds to go in the third quarter in a close game. When Nick “Swaggy P” Young was heading to the basket for a layup, Malcolm Brogdon rose up and timed the attempt perfectly, swatting the ball for a clean block. However, in the follow-through, he made some contact with Young’s face, which is what earned a whistle from the referees. However, the outspoken Laker veteran took exception to the foul, which he clearly thought was dirty. Check out what he did immediately after the foul in the video below.

As you saw, Young immediately pushed Brogdon violently, which led Bucks center Greg Monroe to retaliate and land a push to the neck area of Young, which sent him flying.

Bucks point guard Matthew Dellavedova kept Young from falling, but that didn’t stop Swaggy P and Lakers rookie Brandon Ingram from showing their displeasure, as both players took it up a notch and went after Brogdon, having to be separated by teammates and refs.

Young and Monroe were ejected and in the process, D’Angelo Russell was also kicked out, much to the displeasure of Lakers head coach Luke Walton, who didn’t understand the reasoning. He also called out a Bucks official after the game who seemingly put his hands on a Lakers player during the scuffle.

The referees did a good job of breaking the fight up, as the teams were quickly separated and the fans with high-priced court-side seats weren’t subjected to any violence. After the famous "Malice at the Palace" event in 2004, the NBA has taken fan and player safety in these instances very seriously.

However, the situation as a whole could have been avoided if Young took the hard foul and headed to the free throw line like a typical professional would have done.

However, some frustration might have been boiling over for the veteran shooting guard, as he's stuck in an odd situation as an older player having a career year on a rebuilding team that's currently giving their young guns as much playing time as they can handle.
