Ipswich striker Jon Stead admits he is looking forward to returning to his former club Sheffield United on Saturday.

The 25-year-old joined the Tractor Boys from the Blades in September after he was frozen out at Bramall Lane by boss Kevin Blackwell.

"I joined the club when they were in the Premier League and scored some goals and really enjoyed my time there," he told Ipswich's official website.

"As time went on my chances became more limited, but looking back on my stay at Sheffield, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to going back.

"I was disappointed with the number of chances I got under the manager there but I left on good terms. The fans realise that I needed to get more games."
