Defender Gabor Gyepes has signed a three-year contract extension with Cardiff.

The Hungarian joined the Championship outfit from Northampton following the departure of Glenn Loovens and will return to contention for Wednesday`s clash with Derby following a one-match ban.

He told the club`s official website: "I am really excited and happy signing the new deal. I had a tough two years and this makes all that worthwhile."

He added: "It was my dream when I came here to earn a new deal and now this has come true. My wife and I have settled well in the area and we really love it here."
