FA charge Davis

Football News

Crystal Palace defender Claude Davis has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association.

The charge relates to the incident in Saturday's Coca-Cola Championship clash with Cardiff which left City defender Roger Johnson in hospital.

Davis appeared to elbow Johnson as Palace defended a set-piece, and the incident led to a half-time bust-up between opposing managers Neil Warnock and Dave Jones. The Jamaican - on loan from Derby - went unpunished at the time but has now been charged by the FA.

He has until 6pm on Thursday to respond to the charge, and an FA regulatory commission will hear the case on Friday.
