Robert Pires is easily one of the greatest wingers to ever grave the Premier League, that fact can scantly be debated.

The French magician won the World Cup and European Championships before arriving in north London back in 2000 and went on to spend six years with the Gunners.

Pires won the Footballers Writers' Association Footballer of the Year for 2001–02 as the Gunners rampaged to a dominant double and he played his part as Arsene Wenger's men became the 'Invincibles' in 2004.

Needless to say given all of those achievements that Pires played with a whole host of outstanding talents during his illustrious career.

But, who was the best?

The Gunners were an imperious force at the turn of the century, a far cry from what they have declined to right now.

As such, the likes of Sol Campbell, Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry, among others, were legendary names that lined the ranks for the Gunners.

But none of them were his best Arsenal teammate.

"With the national team it would be Zinedine Zidane. He was one of the best players in the world and it was a privilege for me because I learnt a lot from training with him," Pires said when asked who was the best player he had played with.

"With Arsenal, there was Thierry Henry but I think the best was Dennis Bergkamp."

The Dutchman was a genius on the pitch and his spectacular turn and finish against Newcastle - from a Robert Pires ball - is still remembered as one of the greatest goals in Premier League history.

Nobody could argue with Henry's contributions to Arsenal. The legendary forward won virtually everything available in the game and is Arsenal's record goalscorer.

However, it's interesting to hear a professional's perspective from that time. Bergkamp's technique and footballing brain must have been beautiful to see on a day-to-day basis.
