Southampton boss Mark Wotte wants the chance to lead the relegated club back to the Championship at the first attempt.

Saints will start next season in League One on minus-10 points following their owners' recent move into administration.

Wotte took over from fellow Dutchman Jan Poortvliet in January and has said: "I have a rolling contract as an academy director. When I took over I signed a contract which, if we had stayed up, I would sign for another year. So now it is up to the new people at the club and whether they want me to be a part of the first team. Otherwise I will go back to working with the academy again."
