Accrington are this week set to open talks with manager John Coleman over a new contract.

Coleman, whose present deal runs out in the summer, and assistant Jimmy Bell are both expected to extend their 10-year spell in charge of the Reds.

"We will be speaking to them both and hope to work out a new deal," chief executive Robert Heys told the Accrington Observer.

"John is now the longest-serving manager in the Football League and we are hoping we can come to an agreement and there may be one or two changes for him.

"At the moment the administrative side and playing side are separate and we would like them to come together more so it is more beneficial for everyone at the club."
