Greg Abbott's future as Carlisle manager is under increasing scrutiny and will be discussed this week by the club's directors.

Despite Saturday's dramatic last-day escape from relegation, chief executive David Allen says there is no guarantee Abbott will be in charge of the team next season.

"Any manager who produces the results Greg has produced over the last few months should be under scrutiny," Allen told the News & Star.

"As a board, we are going to look at everything we have got in the club from top to bottom - which includes Greg.

"Nobody can say with 100 per cent certainty that Greg is going to be here in two months time.

"At the moment, all the factors are weighted in his favour. But we are not frightened to make a decision."
