The Undertaker may have hung up — or laid down, in this case — his gloves for the last time at WrestleMania 33, but he left behind an unforgettable legacy. He reinvented himself time and time again as the years passed, going through several iterations of his classic "spooky" gimmick before becoming a bandana-wearing biker in the latter-half of his career. Before all that, though, he was the master of the dark arts. It was long ago that he led The Ministry of Darkness, with a stable of disciples following The Deadman's orders. Perhaps one of the most memorable moments of that era was when the Ministry kidnapped Stephanie McMahon. What came next was an all-time classic on RAW. The Undertaker threw Vince McMahon off their trail, having him "meet" them at a fake location while they strapped Stephanie to The Undertaker's crucifix-like logo. The Undertakers' theme hit, and the Ministry made its way to the ring, carrying Stephanie down like a sacrificial lamb:

Their plot was to marry The Undertaker and Stephanie, forging a dark bond between the increasingly-evil Taker and the daughter of the man who runs the WWE.

Paul Bearer was in his finest form, hosting the celebration while he clutched to his dark arts book and read their vows. Ken Shamrock attempted to interrupt the "marriage" but was quickly dispatched by The Ministry.

The Big Show was next in line, and while he put in some damage to The Lord of Darkness' minions, he was taken out of the ring by The Undertaker with a baseball bat to the face.

Finally the glass shattered and out stormed Stone Cold Steve Austin, who was locked and loaded with Stone Cold Stunners and a steel chair:

The Undertaker demanded Stone Cold deliver the ransom for Stephanie, but Austin wouldn't accompany McMahon. He did, however, save Stephanie. After clearing house he hesitantly unstrapped her from the crucifix.

What came next was the most awkward hug ever. Stephanie thanked her "hero" by hugging him, but Austin kept his arms open and wanted no part of it. His feud with Vince was still at the forefront of the WWE, and he wasn't there to do a favor for Mr. McMahon.

It was classic Austin, classic Undertaker and classic WWE storyteling. The Undertaker was always at his best when they embellished on his affinity with the dark side, and this was one of the most daring angles they took with him.
