Swansea have decided not to offer Dennis Lawrence a new contract and have released him from the club.

The Trinidad and Tobago international defender played a key role in Swansea's title-winning side of 2007/08 but made just one cup appearance as they moved up to the Championship and spent nearly all of the season on loan at Crewe.

The 35-year-old has now been told by manager Roberto Martinez that he has no prospects at the Liberty Stadium and is the first of Swansea's seven out-of-contract players to have his future decided.
