Bristol City are in talks with Izzy Iriekpen over his future at the club with manager Gary Johnson keen to keep the defender.

The former West Ham centre-back joined the Robins on a free transfer in January after leaving Scunthorpe, and was contracted until the end of the season.

"We've liked what we've seen from Izzy," Johnson told the club's official website. "We're talking to him about a deal and he'll have to pass a stringent medical."

However, there was bad news for David Noble and Jennison Myrie-Williams who have been released, while on-loan Southampton striker Stern John has also left the club.

Frankie Artus, Tristan Plummer, Brian Wilson and Stephen Henderson have already been offered new terms.
