Manchester United have now drawn nine times at Old Trafford this season after last night’s 1-1 stalemate against Everton.

Certainly, if United fail to finish in the top four, Jose Mourinho will be left to rue his side’s home form.

The Red Devils required a 94th minute penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimovic in order to salvage a point after they huffed and puffed for the majority of the contest.

Mourinho argued his side should have been level in the 81st minute when Ibrahimovic headed the ball home but his effort was ruled out for offside.

“It’s not an offside but it's difficult for the linesman, I’m no critic of him at all,” Mourinho told BT Sport, per the Daily Mail.

“I just say when the VR (video referee) comes it will help everyone especially them, the linesman and referees.”

Close call

It was a very, very tight call. Howard Webb even admitted it took him a while to reach a decision after studying the replays.

“Ultimately he (Ibrahimovic) is onside, the foot of Williams plays him onside but we had to slow that down and stop it and it took us a few minutes to get to that answer,” the former Premier League official told BT Sport.

Jagielka gave Everton the lead

Phil Jagielka gave Everton the lead in the 22nd minute when he instinctively turned home following a flick-on from Ashley Williams.

It was a finish that you wouldn’t associate with a defender - least of all one whose last goal came in 2015.

Ferdinand slammed Rojo's defending

Man United hero Rio Ferdinand led the inquest, criticising Marcos Rojo for failing to make a brave attempt to clear the danger.

“Rojo has got to go and head this. Get kicked in the face, get a bloody nose,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport, per the Metro.

“Has to go for it. Get your head kicked off clean, doesn’t matter.”

Ferdinand would have gone for it. So too Nemanja Vidic, Jaap Stam, Gary Neville and more former United defenders who gave their all in order to win titles.

Rojo? He’s certainly not in that category.
