Things couldn’t be going much worse for David Moyes right now.His Sunderland side have picked up just one point in their previous six Premier League matches and they sit bottom of the league, eight points away from safety with just eight matches remaining. In truth, they look certain to be relegated and Moyes is in danger of losing his job. However, there was actually talk of him getting sacked earlier this week when a video emerged of him threatening to slap BBC reporter Vicki Sparks after an interview.

The Scot was forced to apologise and, despite there being calls for his sacking, he just about survived.

But after Sunderland’s 2-0 defeat to Leicester on Tuesday, things are looking ominous for Moyes.

And Leicester fans certainly weren’t in a forgiving mood.

In fact, they wanted to make matters even worse with a brutal but hilarious chant to mock the Sunderland gaffer.

Now, we’ve all heard the “You’re getting sacked in the morning” chant to an under-pressure manager. But Leicester supporters thought they would adapt that song slightly and go for “You’re getting slapped in the morning” in reference to Moyes’ controversial interview.

Twitter reacts

And it’s fair to say that Twitter was thoroughly enjoying it. Take a look at their reaction:

If there’s any consolation for Moyes, it’s that their eight remaining fixtures are winnable - kind of.

After hosting Manchester United next weekend, the Black Cats plays West Ham (H), Middlesbrough (A), Bournemouth (H), Hull (A) and Swansea (H).

If that gives them the chance of surviving on the final day, they’ve then got to get a result at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.

Ouch.
