Andre Ward's return to the boxing world has gone swimmingly, becoming the unified light heavyweight champion in a stunning victory in November.

Ward, undefeated, took down Sergey "Krusher" Kovalev in a 12-round bout that lived up to the hype. Both fighters went blow for blow in one of the best pay-per-view main events in some time, and a controversial decision left Kovalev title-less and furious.

Neither fighter has stepped into the ring since, but that's going to change very soon. Ward and Kovalev have agreed to battle for the belts again, just months after their first fight. The announcement was made that they will fight on June 17 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is a huge fight, with a chance for either man to legitimize their claim as the best light heavyweight boxer in the world. Many felt Kovalev should have won the initial fight, which he built an early lead in with a second-round knockdown.

"Krusher" has been on the offensive since, critical of a decision that gave him his first loss as a professional boxer. He called Ward the "Son of Judges" as a way to mock his nickname "Son of God." The only fight he had any interest in was this rematch, and he was able to land it.

"I'm going to keep it short and sweet. You got what you asked for -- now you have to see me on June 17," Ward said of Kovalev. "This time leave the excuses at home."

The bout, being tagged as "No Excuses" is going to be promoted by Ward's Roc Nation camp. It's only fitting that Ward got another jab in on Kovalev while promoting the tag line.

"I'm glad to know that rematch will happen," Kovalev said. "I really hope that Andre Ward will get into the ring for this rematch.

"Fans of boxing will see the real 'Krusher' -- the one they have missed for couple of my last fights. For me this rematch is very important as no other bout in my entire boxing career. Thanks a lot to all of boxing fans."

The "real Krusher" is the man who knocked out opponent after opponent within six rounds. His ability to go 12 rounds has been one of the questions analysts have had, and perhaps one of the reasons Ward was able to clinch a narrow but unanimous 114-113 decision.

Ward's style, known for his defensive tactics and technique, makes this a great bout. The two should put on a memorable rematch, and this time neither man wants to hear any excuses once the final bell sounds.
