Another week is here as people are patiently waiting for information regarding the Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather superfight that both boxing fans and MMA fans want to desperately see. At this point the fight looks imminent though.

Conor McGregor has repeated that his next fight will be against Money Mayweather and he is not willing to change that stance for any reason. It would be hard to blame him as the biggest payday in combat sports clearly lies with challenging the undefeated retired fighter.

Dana White recently informed everyone that he believes that the fabled superfight will actually go down after stating that he didn’t believe that it would happen just a few days earlier. Everyone has seemed to reach that conclusion after waiting for this fight for a long time.

Since the entire idea has been floated, multiple former fighters and pundits have weighed in on the possibilities in such a matchup because of differences reaching certain numbers between the two famed fighters.

Now, after much arguing over money and revenue splits, both sides have had a change of heart and it could happen as early as June after T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada got reserved for a possible fight date if details can be hashed out.

If this entire spectacle could come together, the cross-promotion possibilities would be endless for every party involved in this mega-event. Most experts, fellow fighters and sports personalities have said that Mayweather will emerge victorious if the fight is a boxing match.

Lennox Lewis is a three-time world heavyweight champion and the last undisputed heavyweight champion. He is the latest person to offer his opinion on the fight of the century to TMZ during an interview.

He said: “It’s a great spectacle, but I don’t think it will be a great fight. Conor is great at all styles, but Floyd is the master of one. If [Floyd] is gonna fight UFC, I don’t think he’ll win.”

Many people share this opinion as each man has a unique skillset that is near perfect for his chosen arena. McGregor has a distinct advantage whenever the fighting becomes more flexible, while Money is an absolute conductor inside of a boxing ring.

With every week that passes fans of both sports are hoping that this contest becomes a real date they can put on their calendar instead of a hypothetical to argue about with their friends. The combat sport world will have to wait just a little while longer.
