Jurgen Klopp must have been an interested observer as Manchester United dropped more points on Tuesday night.

United have drawn their last two games, and thanks to Liverpool's win over Everton in the Merseyside derby, the Reds look as if they should qualify for the Champions League next season.

Yet, they've also played a game more than most teams, so there's no reason they should be sitting back just yet.

As we approach the business end of the campaign, Klopp will have stressed the need for his players to stay professional.

All that seemed to go out the window, though, when they welcomed Bournemouth to Anfield.

It took just seven minutes for the Cherries to open the scoring courtesy of Benik Afobe.

After the 4-3 thriller the two sides played out at the Vitality Stadium in December, you'd think Liverpool would be wary of Bournemouth's attacking players.

At the very least, you wouldn't expect Georginio Wijnaldum to pass the ball right into their feet.

The Dutchman has had a fantastic debut season with his new club, but it's fair to say this wasn't one of his finer moments.

Liverpool generally seem to rely on outscoring their opponents rather than wasting their time defending, but that could be more difficult from now on.

Top scorer Sadio Mane is likely to be out for several weeks with suspected knee ligament damage, so it's more important than ever for his team-mates to keep things tight.

Adam Lallana joined Mane in the treatment room, as did Jordan Henderson, which suggests this probably wasn't Klopp first-choice XI.

Regardless, there's no getting away with an error like that in the Premier League.
