The future of Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal has been one of the most hotly-debated topics in the Premier League since the turn of the year.

Having been embroiled in a contract saga with teammate Mesut Ozil since last year - with both players' contracts coming to an end in the summer of 2018 - numerous top European clubs have been linked with the Chilean's services.

Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are two of the favourites for the South American forward's signature, but the Gunners are desperate to keep ahold of both of their key men - particularly Sanchez, who is generating plenty of interest.

However, the 28-year-old has yet to accept the £250,000-a-week deal that has been tabled by the north Londoners as Sanchez continues to mull over his future at the Emirates, with the club currently fifth in the Premier League.

Sanchez has proven to be the Gunners' biggest asset since arriving from Barcelona for a fee in the region of £35 million back in 2014 and Arsenal are desperately hoping that they can tempt their star man to stay put despite the lucrative offers from elsewhere.

And one of those offers includes a move to west London with Chelsea, who are eager to acquire the south American in order to bolster their squad this summer before their return to the Champions League next campaign.

But despite the lure of joining the champions-elect, according to the Mirror, Sanchez is ready to relieve Arsenal fans' fears by committing to the club for another season, providing that the club meet one very important condition.

Sanchez demands Arsenal transfer ambitions

The forward is said to be willing to remain at the Emirates, despite the future of boss Arsene Wenger being uncertain and fan unrest, providing that Arsenal prove their ambition in this summer's transfer market.

Arsenal supporters have been rueing Wenger's inability to capture their main targets over recent years and their failure to go out and spend big like their title rivals due to their strict club policy.

However, Sanchez wants the club to go out and prove themselves in the summer window by capturing big names and showing signs of intent, if he is to enter the final year of his contract at the Emirates.

Should the Gunners fulfil the Chilean's requirements, that may mean the Gunners favourite could extend his deal in north London, or otherwise they will face him walking away from the club on a free and potentially joining London rivals Chelsea for nothing.

Sanchez enjoying London life

Sanchez has reportedly told friends he loves London, English football and doesn't want to leave - but a move to Chelsea would mean the former Barcelona star could still live the dream while playing for a club that is a proven title winner.

It's a win-win situation for Sanchez who knows Arsenal won't sell him directly to the Blues, but could join them for free next summer or commit to Arsenal providing they show the ambition this summer that the Chilean is demanding.

It doesn't seem Wenger's uncertain future will play a part in Sanchez's decision over his own future, but the player himself has made clear his expectations of the club if they are to stand a chance of him staying put and not being swayed by offers elsewhere.
