Hereford chairman Graham Turner is confident his club can defy the critics and return to League One at the first time of asking.
The Bulls' relegation to the fourth tier of English football means the club will have to adhere to the league's wage cap of 60% of turnover and is also facing the prospect of declines in advertising and sponsorship revenue.
"What we need to do now is give John (Trewick) every opportunity of getting us back," he told his club's website. "The cynics will say we can't afford it, the cynics will say we don't really want to be there but that is not true at all."
He added: "So there is going to be a lot of hard work. It is already under way. There has already been a lot of hard work with John talking to players, existing players and players from other clubs, and we would like to get it sorted as soon as possible."
