The Philadelphia 76ers haven't had a great deal of luck with their lottery picks, but they've housed an interesting development to their No. 1 pick Ben Simmons. Simmons, who has missed his entire rookie season due to a Jones fracture in his right foot, has reportedly grow into a legitimate seven-feet-tall. Simmons was already an elite prospect, but the fact that he's now an oak tree among saplings makes him even more tantalizing. It's not unheard of for a player to continue growing once they make the leap from college to professional basketball. Considering most of the lottery prospects being drafted are between 18 and 19 years old, it makes sense there's still plenty of physical development to be had. What makes it so stunning regarding Simmons is his talents are more akin to a point guard than frontcourt player. He's a visionary passer, great ball-handler and distributor more than scorer. Now put those skills into a seven-foot-tall body and opposing NBA teams have a problem. World B. Free, a former 76ers player, made the shocking revelation during a 76ers broadcast. Here's what he had to say, via Ben Rohrbach of Yahoo Sports. "It seems like Ben Simmons grew about another two inches since he’s been here. I told him that the other day, I said, ‘Ben, you look like you’ve grown another two inches since you’ve been here.’ His arms are long, he’s lean, he’s in shape."When I watched him in practice — just in practice — he’s like a baby Magic Johnson. He’s practiced with LeBron — he worked out with LeBron — so LeBron’s probably going to beat him up and make him strong."Jon Johnson, a 76ers reporter and sports talk host, confirmed that Simmons is just under the seven-foot mark via his Twitter account:

So it appears the 76ers have been quietly growing an NBA Frankenstein monster in their basement. A massive youngster with the size of Shaq and the fluidity of Magic leading the 76ers sounds like a fascinating sight to see.

Just close your eyes and imagine a seven-foot-tall Simmons doing this to opponents:

This might be the exact reason the 76ers were willing to part ways with Nerlens Noel for next to nothing at the trade deadline. The Sixers' talent is mostly allocated between the power forward and center position, and Simmons appears to have size to play multiple positions.

He was initially projected as a combo point forward, but it seems he could even be a point center with this crazy growth spurt. Crazier, there's still time for him to continue growing taller, and he's still going to build muscle for years.
