Daniel Cormier defended his UFC light heavyweight title in the main event of UFC 210 against Anthony Johnson and the bout did not disappoint. In a rematch from UFC 187 back in 2015 where Cormier first won his title, the champion submitted Rumble in the second round with a guillotine choke after raining down punches on his prone opponent.Johnson fell victim to the ground and pound game yet again and once DC locked in the submission, it was only a matter of time.Following the bout, Johnson, 33, quite shockingly announced his retirement from UFC and insists he has already committed himself to another job.“This was my last fight,” he said after tapping out. “I gave my commitment to another job.”“Time for me to do something else,” the 33-year-old added.Although one has to wonder whether Johnson would have made the same decision had he won, the manner of the defeat is sure to have played some part in the decision.Rumble looked good in spurts during the bout and although primarily a wrestler, he had the champion worried with some striking combos early on.However, as you can see from the video below, before DC even clamped on the guillotine, Johnson looked a weary, beaten man.

Following the fight, Cormier took aim at English competitor Jimi Manuwa, who is currently ranked fifth in the light heavyweight standings.

There is no doubt that Manuwa has been lobbying for a title shot and he may well be the next in line, assuming Jon Jones doesn't enter the picture first.
