Six league games remain for Borussia Dortmund to secure automatic qualification for the Champions League for next season.

Thomas Tuchel's men are currently fourth in the Bundesliga and, following their 4-1 defeat to Bayern Munich over the weekend, are a point behind Hoffenheim in third.

The importance of guaranteed Champions League football cannot be overstated, especially so when it comes to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's future.

An interesting summer awaits the Gabon international, who continues to be linked with a big-money move away from the Westfalenstadion.

His impressive haul of 25 league goals this season - one behind Robert Lewandowski in the top goalscorers chart - has seen a number of European giants express interest.

Amongst those keen to sign Aubameyang are the usual likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United.

One club the 27-year-old certainly won't be joining is Bayern Munich, who he insists he would never join from Dortmund.

"No one can predict the future," he told Fussball Bild in January, per Goal. "The only thing for sure is that I'm currently with Dortmund and I love it there.

"But I cannot say that I'll stay for another two, five or 10 years. It is possible that in June a club comes to an agreement with Dortmund.

"At the moment I really don't think about it. I focus only on the work with my team-mates with Dortmund and Gabon. Never would I switch to Bayern."

An interesting update has now been provided by Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke, who claims that Aubayemang can only leave for two clubs.

He said on Sport1's Doppelpass programme, per the Daily Mail: "I think he will stay with us, but if Real Madrid or Barcelona come along with an offer, maybe he'll think about it.

"The rest of the clubs who are interested in him are not really an alternative for him. And certainly not Bayern because we wouldn't allow him to join them."

A Premier League move is a no-go, but if Aubameyang had the choice between joining Barcelona or Real Madrid, he would inevitably choose the latter.

The Gabonese has previously revealed he made a promise to his grandad to play for Los Blancos - and he plans to fulfil it.

"Yes, it's a promise I made to my grandfather," he said in December. "Right now I feel very good at Dortmund, but in the future, we'll see."
