Oldham boss Dave Penney has no plans to raid his former club Darlington for players.

Penney has released six of the Latics squad in two days but insists he is in no hurry to find replacements.

"Everyone's assuming that because Darlington's players are now all available on frees they'll all be coming in - that won't be the case," Penney told the Manchester Evening News.

"We'll have a good look round and see what's available and pick the best in the areas we need to strengthen.

"The phone's been red hot and the e-mails have been flying in but what I'm not going to do is rush it."
