Conor McGregor has the attention of the world as one of the most dominant fighters in all combat sports.

That means every little thing he does garners plenty of attention. McGregor paid a visit to Liverpool over the weekend and decided he wanted to cruise around in a Rolls-Royce Wraith after stopping while bounding about the city.

When you're The Notorious, everything you do has to be high profile. That ante is upped even further when he's also engaged in a showmanship battle with Floyd "Money" Mayweather. Unfortunately for McGregor, he could now find himself in some hot water for going too far.

Conor decided he'd show off his fancy rental car, obtained through Platinum Executive Travel, on Instagram while taunting the city of Liverpool. He snapped a picture of himself standing on the hood of the expensive car to put an exclamation point on it:

"Liverpool we run your city," wrote McGregor in the caption.

The problem, of course, is Platinum Executive Travel runs his rental car.

The company, rightfully so, was not happy to see McGregor using one of their top-notch vehicles as a prop, according to the Liverpool Echo. With Conor taking the picture to the 11.9 million followers he has on Instagram, it was bound to get back to them.

But the way it unfolded adds even more intrigue to the situation.

The son of the man who runs the company caught wind of the picture and dropped a zinger of a response to him in the comments.

"When you own one Conor you can stand on it like Floyd until then you can lose your deposit for standing on mine," he said.

The company is currently considering taking legal action against McGregor for standing on the luxury vehicle. A spokesman for the company was reached and said that Conor would no longer be welcome to book through them because of the "level of disrespect" in his actions.

The car, believed to be worth approximately $300,000, was never meant to be a play thing for McGregor, A chaffeur was hired to drive the car, so he may have never even taken the wheel for that matter. The world of luxury car rentals is serious.

It's unclear what the resolution may be, and if there was any damage done to the hood of the car. It's unlikely Conor went stomping about the body of the vehicle, but the scorned company will surely take a very close look at any and all vehicles they rented out to McGregor.
