Ian Holloway has been named as the new manager of Coca-Cola Championship side Blackpool.

The 46-year-old returns to management almost 12 months to the day after his departure from Leicester and takes over from Tony Parkes, who was in caretaker control following Simon Grayson`s departure to Leeds in December before his exit this week.

Holloway has signed a one-year deal with a one-year option and chairman Karl Oyston told the club`s official website: "We are delighted to be able to welcome a manager of Ian`s calibre to Bloomfield Road. He is a very professional and thorough person who ticked all the boxes and who has an excellent track record. He is hungry to take the club forward."
