Billy Davies has sealed his first Nottingham Forest signing of the summer with Chris Cohen pledging his long-term future to the club.

The midfielder has signed a new four-year contract, committing him to the City Ground until the summer of 2013.

Cohen still had two years to run on his existing deal, but has been rewarded for a string of outstanding displays.

Theg 22 year old was also named player of the year earlier this month after playing a key role in Forest's successful fight against relegation.

Davies said: "It's very important for the club to continue building and making progress.

"The fact that Chris Cohen wants to stay at the club speaks volumes and we're absolutely delighted that our player of the year is going to be on board for the foreseeable future.

"All the players know where we're looking to go and it's a great indication when players want to sign new contracts."
