Manchester United showed that they will be players in next season’s Premier League title race with a convincing 2-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.Goals from Marcus Rashford and Ander Herrera either side of half-time handed Jose Mourinho’s side the win against the league leaders.Nobody knows how the Red Devils’ season will finish. They could finish third and qualify for the Champions League, or do so automatically by winning the Europa League, or they could finish outside the top four and mess up in Europe. But, currently on a 22-match unbeaten streak, United supporters have to be confident about next season. They ran out easy winners against the Blues and that was without the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was introduced after Herrera made it 2-0.Mourinho, who managed to record his first win over his former team as Man United’s manager, insisted he will continue to vie for a top four spot until it’s impossible for the club to qualify for the Champions League through the Premier League."I'm really happy with the team and the result because the results of Man City and Liverpool left us needing to win,” the Portuguese said, per Sky Sports. “The result means we keep two windows open to play Champions League football."I can't give up on the Premier League yet. We have to try. If one day we are in the Europa league and the distance in the Premier League is too big, then we have to prioritise and nobody can criticise us if we do things in a different way for the final few matches.

"But while it is mathematically possible we have to go with everything we have."

Pogba impressed in midfield

While Rashford and Herrera made noticeable contributions, Paul Pogba produced a solid performance at the heart of midfield.

The Manchester Evening News noted: “The hysterical hype surrounding N'Golo Kante piqued the midfielder and his stirring tackle on Costa was a significant moment. Seemed to thrive without Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”

The tackle on Costa was immaculate. Check it out below.

If there was one part of his performance that Pogba will want to forget, it’s his attempt to find Ashley Young with a bold flick in the first half.

Tucked up tight in the corner, the Frenchman attempted to roll the ball to the onrushing Young.

Pogba’s idea didn’t go as expected, and earned a wry smile from his teammate. Check it out below.
