Last week's Monday Night RAW had everyone talking after a shocking backstage segment left one of the most visible wrestlers on the roster’s status on television programming up in the air. In this instance, it is not Finn Balor being discussed either.

The Superstar Shakeup came and went with many stars switching sides from RAW to SmackDown, but the bigger story coming out of the flagship program was Braun Strowman’s attack on Roman Reigns.

Reigns was being interviewed by Michael Cole about his match with the Undertaker at WrestleMania 33 and what he felt about that experience. Both the superstar and the announcer were quickly interrupted by Strowman who looked like he was in a foul mood.

A skirmish began and both men continued the scuffle as they went through the backstage area. The Monster Among Men threw The Big Dog around like a rag-doll while the entire scene continued to escalate as damage to the set increased.

In a moment of extreme punishment, The Powerhouse was attacked by Strowman when he was inside the ambulance as the hulking man tipped the vehicle.

Now, it looks like Reigns will be spending some time off the television cameras after enduring that assault. He has been appearing at house shows in the last week and looks about the same as far as physical strength is concerned.

The man who retired the Undertaker also took a moment to speak with Chris Jericho on his podcast recently and talked about his favourite matches as a WWE superstar. Some of the answers might raise some eyebrows among fans.

He said: “The biggest one of them all for me would have to be with [Triple] H. Yeah, man, being in the ring with him, and that’s another guy that kind of feels like how it is with The Undertaker, but one I enjoyed, and was really rocking, was with Big Show.

“We had that Last Man Standing match in Chicago and it was… Man, it was such a dope match. Like, really cool bumps, and really cool moments, and he’s so good, and it’s so easy with him.”

Triple H makes some sense here as he has become a huge figure for a lot of fans who came of age during the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression eras. Curiously no mention of his matches with AJ Styles or Seth Rollins which were great.

The Big Show is a surprising choice, but it makes sense because of his role in making a lane for larger performers to be more successful in the industry. There will be more big matches to come for Reigns as he gets set for a big 2017.
