The Golden State Warriors hold a 1-0 lead in its first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers, but could be facing some significant adversity in Game 2.

Kevin Durant is officially listed as questionable due to a calf strain and could miss the game for it. It would be a big blow to the Warriors, who definitely want to dispatch of Damian Lillard and the Trail Blazers as fast as possible to rest up between rounds.

The bright side for Golden State is they just went through a month without Durant. The superstar forward suffered an injury that sidelined him but the Warriors were able to go on a 13-game winning streak without him. Perhaps that was a blessing in disguise.

Stephen Curry spoke with media following news of Durant's injury and sounded confident his team would be able to respond if Durant doesn't lace up his Nikes for Game 2.

"We've been in this situation very recently so I understand 'the next man up,' and we'll play the way that we play when certain guys are out, and it all starts obviously defensively. Based on our Game 1 we obviously need to pick it up on that end anyway, so it should be a good shot," he said.

"It's always been that way, but obviously we've gone through a month without him, it's not just talk, it's action. We have proven results and we figured out how to do it by committee and even when we're shorthanded to still be able to win a game."

Curry's right on several fronts. The Warriors definitely have proven they can win without Durant during the regular season, and in past seasons. It'd be wrong to overlook the group of Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala

The Warriors also have some work to do on defense. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum combined for over 70 points in Game 1. Durant led the Warriors in scoring to open their playoff run, so slowing down the Trail Blazers' backcourt has to be a top priority.

Golden State has more than enough talent and experience to win a playoff game, perhaps even this series, sans Durant. Others will have to step up, but they just wrapped up a huge stretch without KD and found plenty of success.

"We'll be ready for whatever lineup goes out there... there's certain guys that will have an impact on the game. We've just gotta be ready for anything really," Curry concluded.

The Warriors will make a final decision on Durant's status prior to tip-off, but Curry sounds confident they can take a 2-0 lead even without one of their primetime players.
