Kylian Mbappe is on the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs following his sensational breakout season at Monaco.

The 18-year-old Frenchman has been dubbed the next big thing and, with 22 goals in all competitions this season, it’s not hard to see why.

Real Madrid have been linked with the teenager but the Spanish giants are yet to make an approach, according to Monaco’s sporting director Antonio Cordon.

"The truth is they haven’t,” Cordon told Cadena Ser when asked if Madrid had been in contact, via ESPN.

"I hope that Mbappe continues with us for a long time and gives us many great nights of football.

"He is a player that has had an important progression and has deserved it. He is going strong."

Release clause

But Mbappe’s current contract does include a release clause, meaning Monaco will sell if their valuation of the player is met.

"I hope he stays for the good of Monaco, but we know how the market works and what football is like,” Cordon added.

"He has a clause and it's quite a lot of money. I don't know exactly how much, but it's a lot."

Bright lights

Mbappe will play in a Champions League semi-final after he helped Monaco defeat Borussia Dortmund, scoring three times in their 6-3 aggregate win over the German side.

The youngster is getting used to playing on the big stage - at the start of the month, he featured in the Coupe de la Ligue match against Paris Saint-Germain.

The game was a learning experience for Mbappe, and not just because of PSG’s 4-1 win.

Thiago Silva left Mbappe close to tears in recent match

The France international faced Thiago Silva, who was in no mood to go lightly on Mbappe.

Silva was rough the young talent, so much so that Mbappe was close to tears at full-time.

That is according to Mbappe’s teammate, Danijel Subasic.

“In the League Cup final we lost 4-1 to PSG and Silva was snapping at Mbappe from the first to the last minute,” Subasic told 24 Sata, per the Daily Mail.

“He really tackled him hard, you could see he went for him and wanted to ruin his confidence.

“In the locker room Mbappe was very sad, almost cried, he was really down.

“I felt sorry for him so I hugged him and told him those things are normal because he had shown everyone how powerful he was and in future everyone will go after him that way.”
