If you’ve watched one minute of the opening round Eastern Conference playoff series between the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards, you probably understand that the two teams don’t like each other very much.In scrappy, physical games, the Wizards currently hold a 2-1 advantage, but the Hawks got themselves back into the series with a decisive 116-98 victory in Game 3 on Saturday night. After Game 1, Hawks star Paul Millsap criticized the intensity and physicality of the Wizards, likening it to mixed martial arts."The difference in the game was we were playing basketball and they were playing MMA. They were physical. When the game is like that we have to match their physicality. But again, we've got to go get some moves and bring them back to the court,” he said to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution after the 114-107 loss.Heading into Game 2, Markieff Morris told the Washington Post, “Just see where he’s at now. I guess if that’s MMA, then what we do next might be double MMA.” He added, “It is what is. We ain't going to stop our intensity because of what they say. We're going to keep playing as hard as possible and playoff basketball.”In Game 3, Millsap was arguably the best player on the court, leading the Hawks with 29 points on 12-of-20 shooting along with 14 rebounds, five assists, a steal, two blocks and a plus-minus of plus-22.On the other hand, Morris didn’t perform up to his standards, scoring just nine points on 4-of-14 shooting along with six rebounds, a steal and two blocks for a plus-minus of negative-17.As you might imagine, tension between the two boiled over after the game.It started with Morris calling Millsap a “crybaby” to reporters."Me, as a man, you take your wins with your losses. I take my wins with my losses all the time," said Morris. "He just did more for his team. He's a crybaby. You get all the calls when you're a crybaby. That's how I look at it.”Here’s footage of the insult:

If you were wondering, Morris had five fouls called on him in Game 3.

During his postgame press conference, Millsap was informed about Morris’ comment, laughed and said, “It definitely got personal now, yes. I don't care, so what. Take his loss and go back to the hotel, be ready for the next game.”

Here’s video proof of the shot being fired back:

Meanwhile, as you saw above, teammate Dennis Schroder (who was sitting right next to Millsap in the presser) mumbled, “Oh my gosh, no. Oh, Paul” into the microphone while shaking his head after he was informed of what the outspoken Wizards forward had said.

On the surface, one grown man calling another grown man a “crybaby” seems a bit juvenile and silly. However, this is playoff basketball. The stakes are high and the drama usually follows suit.

Game 4 between Millsap’s Hawks and Morris’ Wizards will take place on Monday at Phillips Arena in Atlanta. Now that the feud has become personal, expect to see fireworks as the two foes square off.
