Over the weekend, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr surprisingly revealed that he might not coach again during his team’s current playoff run.Dealing with complications stemming from a previous back surgery, Kerr is in so much pain that he cannot bring himself to be on the sidelines until it subsides. As many Warriors players publicly extended their condolences for their leader, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James also got in the mix, putting aside the clear rivalry between the two franchises. After giving a shoutout to Paul George and the Indiana Pacers (who he called a "great, worthy opponent") for giving Cleveland a challenge in the first round, James extended a heartfelt and sincere message for Golden State’s head coach.Check it out below:

"My thoughts and prayers go out to Steve Kerr, man," said James, who squared off against the Warriors in the past two NBA Finals.

"I'm not quite sure the illness that he got going on, but anything that keep him away from the game, I know it can't be the best. My thoughts and prayers from my family to Steve Kerr and his family, man,” James exclaimed.

He added, “I wish you a healthy recovery. Whatever that you're going through, I hope the man above continues to put his blessings on top of you and your family, man, and you pull through and get back to the sidelines and just get back to just being able to be you on a day-to-day basis.”

While the drama can certainly heat up and take a nasty turn at this time of the year, James' comments reflect his mature attitude and while basketball is always at the utmost importance, family and health always come first.

Since the two teams have a good chance at meeting in their third-straight NBA Finals, LeBron's comments are even more significant. During the intense battles on the court that the two teams have had in recent seasons (in both the postseason and regular season), the mutual respect between James and Kerr has been obvious.

This was yet another classy gesture from James, who continues to prove why he’s the face of the NBA on a daily basis. If he never made the mistake of airing "The Decision", you have to wonder how high his popularity would be today not only due to his on-court accolades, but also how he carries himself off the court as a true role model for kids everywhere.
