Payback will be here tomorrow and fans are excited to see the first pay per view event after the Superstar Shakeup. One match that will have a ton of eyes centered squarely on it is Seth Rollins’ clash with Samoa Joe.

Sunday will mark the PPV debut of Joe as he will finally have it out with The Architect on a stage larger than Monday Night Raw. Rollins is riding a bit of a hot streak after beating The Game at WrestleMania and laying a beating on The Destroyer.

Their beef is built on the fact that Joe injured Rollins’ knee before that big WrestleMania 33 match and fans were mad because the injury put the entire setup in jeopardy. Luckily, The Kingslayer was able to get through rehab and participate.

Still, Rollins hasn’t forgotten what happened to him those months ago and is planning to get a measure of revenge at Payback. The Architect managed to survive that run-in with Triple H, but Joe’s style is much more physical and his leg doesn’t look like it is 100 percent yet.

Sunday could provide a huge moment for both men as they wage war in the ring in front of a capacity crowd. Rollins took a moment to point out that the two have a shared history between them that predates his injury.

In the post he says: “The last time I went to war with Samoa Joe I was just a kid. All those years ago it really was just a business. Sunday at Payback, ‘Personal’ won’t even begin to set the table.”

Those words sound like they come from a man that has been waiting for this moment for a while. Earlier in the year, he was laying on that rehab table next to Finn Balor waiting for exactly this moment almost as much as he was anticipating taking out The Game.

The Architect is finally on his way to confront Triple H’s hired muscle about injuring him and is looking to prove a point. Viewers have been waiting for the two to come face to face and let the feud run wild, but it looks like they will be getting just that when Payback begins.

Rollins’ social media posts have been used as a storytelling piece by WWE creative before, but the lines between his own personal feelings and these matches can blur a bit. Fans will determine just how real the beef is for themselves during the match.
