Boston Celtics star Isaiah Thomas will play in his team's Conference Semifinals Game 1 matchup against the Washington Wizards later today.Earlier this week, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens had said there was a possibility that Thomas wouldn't play in this game as he would be attending the funeral of his sister, Chyna, the day before.Stevens said, according to ESPN: "[Saturday's funeral] is a lot more important than [Game 1 on] Sunday. If it's difficult, it's difficult, but it's just a basketball game. He'll be ready to play. And if he decides when he gets there that it's too much, that's OK. That's fine. This is a lot more important."However, several reporters today have confirmed the attendance of the two-time NBA All-Star at TD Garden today, saying he will take part in Game 1 against the Wizards.A. Sherrod Blakely of Comcast SportsNet has said the point guard is with the team and will play in today's playoff game against Washington, while Jeff Goodman of ESPN also confirmed Thomas' attendance at the TD Garden.

13 days ago on April 15, Thomas' younger sister Chyna Thomas was killed after she was involved in a single-vehicle accident near their native Tacoma, Washington. Thomas elected to stay in Boston at the time but looked very emotional while the Celtics dropped the first two games of their first-round series against the Chicago Bulls.

Thomas returned home to Tacoma to see his family during the two-day break before Game 3, before helping Boston regain control of the series and advance to the next stage of the playoffs by winning the next four games. He's averaged 23.0 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in six games for the Celtics so far in the postseason.
