The Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 1 between the Boston Celtics and the Washington Wizards is only half way through, but there's already been quite a lot of action. The Celtics went down by 16 in the opening minutes of the game, but this wasn't the biggest gap, shall we say, that occurred in the first quarter of play. That award goes to Boston’s Isaiah Thomas as when the All-Star guard tried to defend Washington's Otto Potter, something crazy happened. He lost his tooth.Thomas was trying to defend and stop the Wizards' forward when his mouth was inadvertently hit by Potter's elbow, resulting in the tooth coming flying out of his mouth as you can see in the video below.

The 28-year-old then grabbed his tooth off the court and gave it to his bench before continuing to play the rest of the game.

The missing tooth didn't affect Thomas' game, however, as he hit three 3-pointers to get the Celtics back into the game.

At the half, Boston is still down on the scoreboard 64-59 to Washington, with Thomas having 19 points, zero rebounds, and four assists. He may have a missing tooth, but this hasn't stopped him from smiling.

Thomas later had his tooth repositioned in the second quarter, according to the team's Twitter.

Many thought he would have missed today's game as the funeral of his sister, Chyna, who sadly died 13 days ago after she was involved in a single-vehicle accident near their native Tacoma, Washington, took place on Saturday

However, Thomas flew back into Boston late on Saturday night in time for his team's first game of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Wizards the following day.

Thomas has averaged 23.0 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in six games for the Celtics so far in the postseason.
