On April 15, Isaiah Thomas was hit with some life-changing news that his younger sister, Chyna, had passed away.

Thomas' sister was killed after she was involved in a single-vehicle accident near their native Tacoma, Washington. At the time, Thomas decided to stay in Boston but looked very emotional while the Celtics dropped the first two games of their first-round series against the Chicago Bulls.

During the two-day break before Game 3, Thomas went home to see his family, before returning and helping Boston regain control of the series and advance to the next stage of the playoffs, where they would play against the Washington Wizards.

Thomas attended Chyna's funeral, which took place in Washington this past Saturday, where he read a eulogy for his sister, revealing he wanted to give up and quit.

Thomas said in his eulogy, according to FOX Sports: “When I found out the news I wanted to give up and quit. And never in my life have I ever thought about quitting. I realized quitting isn’t an option. That’s the easy way out.

"I will keep going for my sister as I know she wouldn’t want me to stop. I love you Chyna and I miss you so much. And everything I do for the rest of my life will be for you. I love you, girl.”

Thomas would return to Boston later that evening in time for the Celtics first game of the Eastern Conference Semifinals the following day against the Wizards, where he would be the game's highest scorer with 31 points. He also had one rebound and nine assists.

He's averaged 24.4 points, 6.1 assists, and 3.9 rebounds in seven games for the Celtics so far in the postseason.
