Anthony Joshua is at the top of boxing in Britain, and his star should only rise higher after a signature victory over Wladimir Klitschko.

Joshua is considered one of the top fighters in boxing, now reigning high atop the heavyweight division after an amazing victory at Wembley Stadium. There's only one sensible next step for him after going 19-0 in his professional career.

Joshua rose to the occasion for the boxing world, delivering devastating blow after devastating blow to Klitschko amounting to a stoppage in the 11th round. Where does he go after handily defeating a legend of the sport while the sporting world watched?

America, that's where. Joshua signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime last year but the boxing star has yet to make his way across the pond to make his US boxing debut. All 19 of his fights have been in England, but that's something expected to change soon.

Showtime executive Stephen Espinoza spoke with Sky Sports and revealed the big game plan for Joshua going forward. Espinoza is excited to bring Joshua to America to showcase his talents to an audience that's heard about him more than actually seen him.

"In our discussions with both [promoter] Eddie Hearn and Anthony, coming to America is definitely a priority," Espinoza said, reports Richard Damerell of Sky Sports.

"Ultimately from the US perspective, the ultimate destination would seem to be - at some point in the next year - hopefully Joshua versus Wilder," Espinoza said.

The Joshua vs. Wilder fight seems more and more like a certainty, with two of the top heavyweights in the world at their peaks on a collision course for some serious boxing action. That would be a unification bout the whole world would line up to see.

The Bronze Bomber was even in attendance and noted he would love to fight Joshua, even if it means doing so on Joshua's home turf in England. Add Espinoza to the growing list of people who think getting the two heavyweight champions in the ring together sooner, rather than later, would be the best move for everyone.

"But as a boxing fan, they are two young, strong guys in the prime of their career, and it's almost a foregone conclusion that they will fight, so why not do it right away," Espinoza said.

Joshua has several routes he can go down after defeating Klitschko, with contenders lining up to take a shot at the undefeated 27-year-old champion. Only Anthony can decide what comes next, but after staking his claim at the top, all eyes will be on him no matter what.
