Former Ring Of Honor (ROH) World Champion Adam Cole's contract with the promotion is now up, and the speculation for his WWE debut has begun.

Cole signed with ROH back in 2009 and has worked on-and-off with them ever since. Cole is also a member of the famous Bullet Club which has featured members such as Fin Balor, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and AJ Styles.

Previously Cole has expressed interest in signing with WWE but didn't make it a priority due to his obligations to ROH. Now that that is no longer on the table Cole's WWE future could very well be imminent.

According to a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Cole signing with WWE isn't a done deal as "everybody wants Adam Cole right now." He did, however, note that he does believe Cole's final landing spot will be in WWE.

One promotion who is very interested in inking Cole to a deal is New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), who Cole has done some work for over the years as well.

Meltzer also mentioned that Cole is still expected to do some work for ROH, as well as some indie dates, despite the fact that his contract with the promotion is up. Currently, Cole is scheduled to take on Hiroshi Tanahashi at ROH's War of the Worlds pay-per-view (PPV) on May 12th.

That won't change unless Cole ends up signing with the WWE.

In a previous interview with Sports Illustrated, Cole mentioned the fact that he would one day like to join WWE in hopes of getting his own 'WrestleMania moment':

"That question comes up all the time. To be honest, it's a question I've dealt with, pretty consistently, since 2012. A lot of people have entertained the idea of me leaving, or going to WWE or me leaving for NXT, so that question comes up quite a bit for me.

"People ask, 'Well, would you ever like to go?' Yes, some day. I would be lying to you if I said I didn't want to have my own 'WrestleMania moment.'

"Yet the goals that I have and the task I have in front of me are keeping me fully focused on taking care of business in ROH and New Japan."

Would you like to see Adam Cole land in the WWE? Do you think that's where he'll land? Or will he opt to continue dominating the indie scene?
