Chris Jericho’s return to the WWE has been an absolute gas for fans who have followed his run with the company since he debuted more than a decade ago. Sometimes that hit of familiarity is all the crowds need to feel great about what they see on the screen.

His previous friendship, coupled with eventual blowup, to Kevin Owens have been some of the most well received segments on RAW since his return. Jericho’s injury during the Festival of Friendship stands out as one of the great moments in the flagship program’s recent history.

The next time the two superstars saw each other in the ring, their feud was taken to new heights as the injury indeed cost Y2J the United States title at WrestleMania 33. Both men locked-in the Walls of Jericho on each other at some point in that match.

Owens was only able to prevail after delivering two Pop-Up Powerbombs to his former best friend in front of a stunned crowd in Florida. That moment would not be the last time that they met as that title has been passed back and forth between the two of them for a few weeks now.

Recently, as his contract nears a close, Y2J took a moment to post on Facebook about his idea to thank the fans for his well received run over the past 16 months. He designed a special t-shirt that will go to help a great cause to celebrate.

A “#GOAT” shirt bearing his face on a goat’s body with his famous scarf around its neck will go on sale this week. The saying refers to the term “Greatest Of All Time” which comes up in many sports discussions outside the ring.

He explained his motivations: “I’ll see you all again soon, but in honor of the amazing run I had over the past 16 months in WWE, I’ve designed this official #GOAT shirt as a thanks to you, the Friends Of Jericho! As always, proceeds will go towards the support of Juvenile Diabetes Research, JDRF!”

The entire gesture is a nice touch from the former WWE Champion and shows that he has a sense of humour about himself. The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla understands how big of a deal it is for him to still be beloved by fans after all these years.

Jericho might not go out on top during this run, after losing the U.S. Title to KO during this week’s SmackDown Live, but he will remain a favourite in the hearts of fans everywhere for his undeniable charisma and the ability to still put on a great show.
